Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a sleepy part of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. This part of Montreal is known as the West Island has a lot of different communities. People who have never been aware of it frequently confuse it with an island that is west-facing. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently cited, however her short visit to the West Island did not last long. Brugel grew on Courtice close to Oshawa located in Ontario. She wanted to become a professional dancer, but due to an explosive growth spurt she outgrew every dance partner she met. In an interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I am 6 feet 1 inches." After I surpassed my male counterparts, that's when I gave up. Many former dancers turn to acting, and in the case of Brugel, it was the nudge of the drama instructor at her high school who encouraged her to go in that direction. The teacher suggested she try to get a role for the school's annual show. The audition was successful and she was chosen as Anne of Green Gables. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. In the last 20 years, the roles played by Brugel on television and the big screen have been numerous. Her role as Rita from the award winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel was only seen on a few occasions in the first season of the show The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian member.
